'Barfi!' was declared best film at the first Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) held in Vancouver. The romantic comedy also took home the best director (Anurag Basu), best actor (Ranbir Kapoor), best actress (Priyanka Chopra) and best debut female (Ileana D'Cruz) awards.

Other prominent winners were Ayushmann Khurrana (best male debut for 'Vicky Donor'), Rishi Kapoor (best actor in a negative role for 'Agneepath'), Dolly Ahluwalia (best supporting role female for 'Vicky Donor'), Annu Kapoor (best supporting actor male for 'Vicky Donor'), Abhishek Bachchan (best actor in a comic role for 'Bol Bachchan'), Shalmali Kholgade (best playback singer female for "Pareshaan" from 'Ishaqzaade'), Sonu Nigam (best playback singer male for "Abhi mujh mein" from 'Agneepath'), Gulzar (best lyrics for "Saans" from 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan') and Atul-Ajay (best music director for 'Agneepath'.

TOIFA Critics Awards were handed out to Gauri Shinde (best debut director for 'English Vinglish'), Deepika Padukone (best actor female for 'Cocktail'), Irrfan Khan (best actor male for Paan Singh 'Tomar') and 'Gangs of Wasseypur' (best film).
