I've always heard people go on and on about how amazing the Armani foundations are. Therefore I always wanted to give them a try, but never got around to it. I have no idea why. After a bit of an unfortunate face mask try in New York (GlamGlow - do be warned!) I really needed a foundation for at least a few days instead of just the Nars Tinted Moisturiser that I had brought, and figured it was finally time to try an Armani foundation.

Boy am I glad I did! While I certainly would've rather not had my skin break out excessively over one stupid application of a mask, at least I found my 'Holy Grail' foundation through it all. The colour match; 4,5 is also perfect for me.

I apply this using a damp Beauty blender with gentle swiping motions followed by "dotting" it on where I need more. The first layer is light coverage but the Lasting Silk UV Foundation is really buildable. This makes it a really versatile foundation which means it's great to use for both good and bad skin days, you can just adjust the amount of product that you use. I set it with my Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray and also add a powder over that through my t-zone. If you have oily skin you will need to set it with powder.

The finish of this foundation is just amazing, like nothing else I've ever used. It looks just like skin! I know that's an over-used expression, both in marketing and by bloggers, but this one really does! The finish is absolutely fantastic, even with my skin breaking out I still felt like it looked really nice and that's the whole point of applying foundation, isn't it? When applied it somehow manages to even out skin and cover minor imperfections, but like I said, still looks like you've got nothing on!

Above; Foundation as it comes out of the bottle and swatched. Below; Blended across the top of my hand. You really see how natural the finish is!

Now, I couldn't cover really red blemishes completely and so went over the most problematic areas with my Cle De Peau concealer. The two worked really great together. Paired with the By Terry Touche Veloutée and NARS Penny Lane cream blush and I get a really nice, easy and natural base.

The Lasting Silk UV Foundation comes with SPF 20 which I love, but I'm not sure if it will cause a problem when taking flash photography. If not for that I would deem this the perfect wedding day foundation. It could very well still be if it doesn't actually flash back, but I just haven't tested it. Wedding day or not, this still is the best foundation I've ever tried and I recommend it to everyone and anyone whole-heartedly! I even bought a backup!
