Armani Prive Spring Summer 2011 couture show

Lately, Giorgio Armani signed a deal with Gaga to become the official designer for her tours and on stage appearances. This master started a new era 2 seasons ago but who could have imagined he will get here that fast and give us the ecstasy and joy to be able to watch such a show.
Who cares if our eyes and mind are not used to this side of Armani, and who cares about what we will see on the red carpets soon? (because am sure not many would dare to wear an entire Armani Prive look) as far as we get these looks, then a new era in the world of fashion/clothing is starting. 100 years from now, if anyone would wear any of these garments, everyone would immediately tell it's a piece of Armani Prive SS 11-12.

The inspiration, the shine of jewelry and stones: "the glem of gemstones". The result: futuristic meets Aliens with a touch of the sci-fi Tron in it.
Armani collaborated with Philip Treacy to make the 3 hats' designs seen in the show and every single look had its shine. The fabric looked like mirrors due to the finishing of the organza fabric that made it reflect the light, silk was threaded with metal to produce a sheen and in 2 looks, large colored stones replaced the bodice part to cover the bust of the models. In some other designs, Armani carved the fabric, and sliced the dresses in 2 on the hips, and inside the missing areas another shiny fabric was used, looking like the models' second skin.
Making this kind of designs needs the talent, the experience, the eyes and courage of such a great designer.
For the last looks, hats were replaced by studded cage masks and my favorite outfit is the one shouldered blue gown, cut out at the side to reveal a blue sequined layer, followed by the rough blazer paired with a long necklace and green pants.

My least favorite, the kinda Harlequin gown who does not fit anywhere in the collection, it's like we still have some fabric and it's expensive so let's use it.

Jodie Foster who was sitting in the front show next to Sophia Loren and Olivia Wilde called the collection: " Wild, Theatrical, futuristic, a theater of the exotic" and when asked if she would wear it, she said "no, absolutely not" and I believe this is what Giorgio Armani wanted to hear, he wanted to make sure his collection comes for a new client, a different woman, a powerful one who wouldn't mind to shine like a real star.
